Billy Mill 7.40 @ 5/1
Selected Yarmouth – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
1.50 The front running Anglo Saxon returned from a lengthy absence to land his 3rd C&D win but you worry about his bouncing 2nd race back after a break . He won’t have the lead to himself today , which is a negative , the 3 pound hit won’t help, and the 2nd horse has done nothing for the form since . There was precious little between Free Step and the late playing Revolutionary Man over C&D recently , and on similar terms, a similar story is likely , but both are penalised, so the nod goes to the lightly raced Swing To The Stars , a close 2nd on quick ground at Nottingham last time , and this C&D should suit .
1/4p win Swing To The Stars @ 11/2
3.25 Very hard seeing Champagne Sarah doubling up with a 6 pound hit and dropping in trip , but despite a stiff 6 pound hit , the front running and reliable Sparkling Red could be dangerous if allowed too much rope . The Thames Boatman comes here on the back of a close 4th of 18 at York off this mark , and should be able to pick up the front runner.
1/4pt win The Thames Boatman @ 6/4
4.00 Very few count in this low grade handicap and should be a deserved win for Gearing’s Point , a close 3rd at Windsor over an inadequate trip and desperately unlucky at the same venue at around today’s trip when just unable to secure a clear run , and flashed home beaten two necks , behind winner Gilbert , but a 5 pound pull should see her comfortably home .
1/2pt win Gearing’s Point @ evens
Selected Newton Abbot – good to firm on this flat and sharp track
2.00 Tommydan sluiced in at Southwell recently and can run off a 5 pound lower mark back over fences, over which he has limited experience and jumping wasn’t the best . Heneryetta Bay benefitted from the longer trip with an all the way win at Huntingdon and the 3 pound hit looks manageable . Hard getting excited about the other three .
1/4pt win Heneryetta Bay @ 11/4
2.30 Magical Maggie is a cracking mare , who always runs her heart out . She’s up just 2 pounds but both Tibbie Dunbar and Komedy Kicks are hard to rule out , making her a no bet at just evens .
3.40 A good quality Class 2 chase with plenty of in form runners and others who have dropped to tempting marks. Light N Strike sluiced in last time at Warwick , but the 8 pound hit will take some overcoming . Magic Saint has been disappointing in Hunter Chases and hard seeing him getting involved down in trip and on a stiff mark for his current form . Both Kauto The King and Geronimo are well capable off their marks but can only be watched on current form . Noahthirtytwored continues to improve and his recent 2nd at Worcester off a 3 pound lower mark gives him hopes. The wonderfully consistent Elios d’Or is back in top form, but this could be too hot off a stiff looking mark while huge improver Clear The Runway , who landed a 5 timer before underperforming at Cheltenham , can go well fresh , but is too on a stiff looking mark.
1/4pt win Noahthirtytwored @ 7/2
4.10 Looks very much a match between the bold front running Princess Midnight , who is now on a stiff ,mark and better form over further up against recent very gutsy Worcester winner Opening Bid , who may be inconvenienced by the twists and turns here ??
4.40 Very few come here with a realistic chance and the clear form horse is recent Uttoxeter 2nd Mutual Respect , but is a 19 race maiden , so despite a strong chance , just a dabble .
1/4pt win Mutual Respect @ 7/1
Newton Abbot placepot
Selected Haydock – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.10 Only three go and Swift Tuttle almost caused an almighty shock over C&D last time when allowed a soft lead , and was chinned right on the line . He’s likely to have his own way up front again , which won’t help the short priced fav , the back to form Bollin Margaret , with a stiff 8 pound penalty and this hold up mare won’t have the strong gallop she craves .
1/4pt win Swift Tuttle @ 10/3
4.50 A very open and good quality Class 4 handicap , and the short list is long . The nod goes to C&d winner Quick Change who did well last time at York over an inadequate trip .
1/4pt win Quick Change @ 6/1
Selected Kempton- all weather – polytrack

6.40 PREMIUM RACE
7.10 The well drawn C&D winner shaped up very well in a far better race at Leicester when a running on 5th and is taken to land a very tricky looking 3yo handicap.
1/4pt win Grenham Bay @ 4/1
7.40 Billy Mill is very much a regular here and is verry well drawn to take his preferred sit front rank. Arguably more effective over a furlong further , but this is very winnable .
1/2pt win Billy Mill @ 5/1
No Kempton placepot
Selected Hamilton- good to firm on this undulating , stiff and galloping track
5.50 Hurt You Never has suddenly taken off and after a facile 5 lengths win at Redcar , went on to win at Leicester by 4 lengths . She’s only 3 pounds higher and despite the big field , very few of these count . The jockey has ridden her to victory before in this race for amateur jockeys , and I can’t understand why she’s been a drifter in the market .
1/2pt win Hurt You Never @ 2/1
6.50 The trip and marks are the problems with Bulls Aye and Hot Team , which gives the race a match between Graces Quest , proven at the trip and over a stiff track and the in form First Sent , whose form looks a bit stronger and is chanced up in trip .
1/4pt win First Sent @ 5/2
7.50 Plenty of in form runners and plenty effective over C&D . With so much early pace around this could drop to a late player and despite now being on a career high mark, Vince Lombardi could be up to it .
1/4pt win Vince Lombardi @ 3/1
