3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
I Gioini 3.35 @ 3/1
Letmelivemylife 3.20 @ 11/4
Smooth Ryder 5.05 @ 9/4
Selected Hereford – good to soft on this flat and sharp track
1.50 I’m very keen to take on the hat-trick seeking Gold Clermont with an 8 pound hit , on drying ground and has a poor record going right handed . Duc De Beauchene is responding to the drop in the ratings , but still looks very one paced . The nod goes to chase newcomer Prince De Fichaux , very solid form over hurdles at this trip and mark and likely to do better over fences . The admirably consistent Pottlerath didn’t shine in his recent debut over fences , but it was over an inadequate trip and worth watching as he regains fitness following a break .
1/4pt win Prince De Fichaux @ 11/4
3.35 I Giorni stepped up considerably here last time , winning in his first handicap , just getting the better of the luckless Chantilly Haze and both have been penalised but as her rival is 0 from 5 places at this trip , and the tip is a former point winner , very likely to appreciate this longer trip, gets a confident vote .
1/2pt win I Giorni @ 3/1
Selected Wetherby – good to soft on this flat and galloping track
2.35 A modest novice hurdle and a clear opportunity for the useful bumper horse Resplendent Grey , who’s run to a good level in both runs and bred to jump .
1/2pt win Resplendent Grey @ 7/4
3.45 PREMIUM RACE
4.20 This is more about quantity than quality and worth trying recent Ayr winner Joanna I’m Fine , who won with plenty in hand and as she’s now broken her duck , likely to be a more confident mare and taken to overcome the nasty 5 pound hit .
1/4pt win Joanna I’m Fine @ 6/1
4.55 The ones with recent winning form all find themselves on stiffer marks and this longer trip could well find out the reliable Not Sure . Gentleman De Mai did very well in his recent handicap chase debut , going down by just two lengths . He’s been stuck up a cruel 5 pounds , but still preferred .
1/4pt win Gentleman De Mai @ 7/2
Selected Chelmsford City – all weather – polytrack
2.10 Both the recent winners Calin’s Lad and Eagle Eyed Freddie would do very well to double up under penalties and switching to polytrack . The luckless Galileo Glass is likely to be bang there again but preference is for recent C&D winner Simply Gorgeous , only 2 pounds higher and has held her form well since .
1/4pt win Simply Gorgeous @ 10/1
2.45 This has the look of a match between the two form horses in American Belle , who returns from a 6 months absence and Puntarelle , both proven at the trip and surface and nod for the tip as chief rival’s absence is a concern .
1/4pt win Puntarelle @ 9/4
3.20 Letmelivemylife comes here on a hat-trick and after being given a great deal to do , flew home to win over C&D and backed that up with a more prominent ride to spreadeagle a small Wolver field and the 5 pound hit could have been far worse .
½ pt win Letmelivemylife @11/4
5.05 Smooth Ryder is far more likely to have his own way up front today , and her form is good enough to land a tricky looking handicap.
1/2pt win Smooth Ryder @ 9/4
Chelmsford City placepot
Selected Southwell – all weather – tapeta
5,30 PREMIUM RACE
6.00 The odds on fav is Banderas , who returns from a 5 months break after a promising debut at Newcastle , but was a longshot in that race and the placed horses have done little for the form . Preference is for The Gosdens trained Sweet William , 2nd in both starts , both times running to a good level and stamina assured for this late player .
1/2pt win Sweet William @ 11/4
6.30 PREMIUM RACE
7.30 The ex-Irish In The Giving shaped very well in her first start for the top stable of William Haggas when a close 2nd at Kempton . Stays on the same mark and likely to relish this longer trip.
1/4pt win In The Giving @ 2/1
