£1 trixie & £1 treble
Cubanista 4.55 @ 5/2
Silver Bubble 4.28 @ 6/4
Double March 6.30 @ 13/8
Selected Huntingdon – good ground on this flat and galloping track
1.40 as Jean Genie is hard to catch right and also with his stable struggling , looks a match between the in form and reliable pair of Lelantos and Gethepot , but as the latter has experience over fences , and was looking good for the win last time in his first chase , until taking an unlucky last fall , and as he’s proven at the track, gets the vote .
1/2pt win Getthepot @ 9/4
2.50 As the useful chaser switches to hurdles and with no record running well fresh, this looks another match between a pair of recent trip winners in Moon King and Jen’s Boy , and both penalised 4 pounds , but the front running tip’s win came in a stronger heat , and the win will have done is confidence the world of good as wins were hard to come by .
1/2pt win Moon King @ 11/8
3.25 The ex-Irish Gloire D’Athon settled in very well with Sarah Humphrey , running two big races here and ended his season with a fine win over C&D , and the 6 pound hit could have been worse , but returns from a 4 months absence with no record running well fresh , so preference is for recent Southwell winner Pens Man , who is fit and could be up to the 5 pound hit .
1/4pt win Pens Man @ 5/1
4.35 The lightly raced Bells Of Standford signed off with a smart win at Ayr , and the 4 pound hit could have been worse but returns from a 5 months absence and with the stable not firing and also the horse doesn’t go well fresh , time to look elsewhere . Cobbs Corner ended the season with a good 3rd at Fakenham , but that was also 5 months ago and is another likely to need the run . Miss Bamby was a winner at this trip on just a pound lower at Hereford and ran well for a long way in her recent pipe-opener and preferred .
1/2pt win Miss Bamby @ 11/4
Selected Leicester – good to firm on this stiff and galloping track
1.25 A very tricky opener as in this big field nursery , plenty go handicapping for the first time , and no doubt there will be a few lurking on good marks , finding this easier than the maidens they’ve been trying . The fav is Granny B , who didn’t come cheap , and ran well for a long way In deep looking Ayr nursery but when 5th in a Ponty maiden , Poppy Carew , another who didn’t come cheap and with a good stable , was only 3 lengths behind , and the 5 pound pull gets her much closer . Worth a dabble at long odds .
1/4pt ew Poppy Carew @ 28/1
2.00 Beach Breeze didn’t act on the Kempton polytrack last time , and probably found the trip too far too. He returns to a C&D where he was a good 3rd , and 2 pounds lower . He’s also lost his undercarriage , which often helps the top stable’s runners to concentrate more .
1/4pt ew Beach Breeze @ 10/1
3.10 There are four bold front runners in this which won’t help those up front , likely to use up too much petrol battling for the lead and this should go to a late player and could be King Charles III’s first winner , in the well handicapped and strong staying Just Fine , racing in his mother’s silks .
1/4pt win Just Fine @ 9/4
3.45 PREMIUM RACE
4.20 Plenty of early pace all across the track , so the draw shouldn’t be an issue . The strong pace will suit the late players and the in form Strike will be suited to how the race is likely to pan out and very much at home on a stiff and galloping track .
1/2pt win Strike @ 5/1
4.55 This will take little winning and the most likely winner is the late playing Cubanista , just 2 pounds higher when narrowly beaten over C&D on quick ground and with 3 front runners in the field , will have a good pace to chase .
1/2pt win Cubanista @ 5/2
Selected Brighton – soft ground on this undulating , sharp and tricky track
It’s hard enough finding winners at Brighton but adding another variable in soft ground, results in the majority of the races here today being In the lap of the Gods .
1.33 Lethal Angel has become a standing dish here , her last 3 wins coming over C&D , but a massive 8 pounds higher and soft ground unlikely to suit., and was beaten over C&D by the prolific Mary Of Modena , and 6 pounds worse off today . Mary of Modena handles soft ground , and as she’s just 2 pounds higher gets the nod. Bama Lama is rarely far away and was placed I this race last year off a higher mark while the front running Willingly has lived up to her name of late with 3 wins In her last 4 , all on soft ground and just 3 pounds higher today .
1/4pt win Mary Of Modena @ 9/2
4.28 This will take little wining and clearly the one to beat is course specialist Silver Bubble , who should get away with a testing mark in this company and soft ground no issue .
1/2pt win Silver Bubble @ 6/4
No Brighton placepot
Selected Southwell – all weather -tapeta
5.00 PREMIUM RACE
6.00 Not a deep looking or quality nursery and well worth a try on recent Kempton 4th Oasis Power , which came in a far better race and looked likely to appreciate this longer trip . Tapeta debut but stable rarely targets here but have been successful .
1/4pt win Oasis Power @ 5/2
6.30 Double March was a close 3rd over C&D on her debut in a deep looking maiden and backed that up with another good at Haydock, when giving a long odds on shot a fright , losing narrowly . She’s taking on mostly newcomers , the pick being the Godolphin juvenile Castle Peak, typical for the syndicate , cost a packet and well related , but experience counts for plenty and to be beaten , something will have to run to a level of around 80, which takes some doing on debut .
1/2pt win Double March @ 13/8
7.30 PREMIUM RACE
8.00 PREMIUM RACE
8.30 Chances of sorts can be given to plenty of these , and one of these is dual tapeta winner Hooves Like Jagger , a pound lower for a win at Wolver at this trip earlier in the year . He’s ran a couple of decent races on turf of late and this late player will have a strong pace to sit off . Lively longshot .
1/4pt ew Hooves Like Jagger @ 25/1
