3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Rockprincess 2.19 Catterick @ 5/2
Bashful Boy 3.00 @ 11/4
Fresh New Dawn 4.10 @ 5/1
The Epsom Trixie
50p ew trixie & 50p ew treble
Self Praise 2.00 @ 8/1
Revich 2.35 @ 7/1
Cap Francis 3.45 @ 7/1
Selected Huntingdon – good ground on this flat and galloping track
1.00The consistent Mr Yeats overcame what looked a tough mark last time out winning at Ludlow, but today is a further 7 pounds higher and also goes up significantly up trip, so easy to look elsewhere . Ratoute Yutty has won his last two over C&D on this kind of ground , under this jockey and this late player is just 3 pounds higher and preferred to the in form pair of Matchmaking and Letter at Dawn .
¼ pt win Ratoute Yutty @ 5/1
2.10 The lightly raced Mister Malachy was an easy winner in just his 2nd handicap and likely he’ll be able to cope with a 4 pound hit in a modest heat.
¼ pt win Mister Malachy @ 4/1
2.45 The drop in trip wont help the fav , the in form Gouet Del Bruyeres , and preference for the consistent front running Six One Nine , despite him likely to have some unwanted company early on .
1/4pt win Six One Nine @ 7/2
3.20 The drying ground wont help the back to form Ballymilan , while This could come plenty soon enough for Tazka , who has only recently resumed duties after a lengthy absence . Tik Tock Boom is rarely far away at this trip, ground and mark and is preferred .
¼ pt win Tick Tock Boom @ 5/1
No Huntingdon placepot
Selected Catterick – good ground on this undulating and sharp track
2.19 I’m not surprised by the high level of support for the down in grade Rockprincess, who started the season with a close 2nd over C&D in higher grade , and hasn’t been disgraced since . Despite a wide enough draw, likely to race handily as there is so little early pace and she sees it out really well.
½ pt Win Rockprincess @ 5/2
2.54 Game Master isn’t bred for this longer trip , but shapes as if he’ll stay and looks likely to reward odds on supporters in a modest maiden .
3.29 Music Society responded very well to the drop in the ratings with an excellent 2nd at Haydock and was a good 2nd over C&D In this race last year but with such a poor recent win record makes scant appeal at 6/5, especially with both Prospect and Yukon Melody bringing strong form to the race .
4.45 As the runners either have stamina doubts or are now on stiff marks, fine chance for recent Ayr winner Tadita Twitch to double up just 2 pounds higher for a smart win with the field scattered all over West Scotland .
½ pt win Tadita Twitch @ 3/1
5.48 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Market Rasen – good ground on this mostly flat and sharp track
3.00 The 8 pound hit will severely test recent Perth winner , and as this is his 2nd race back since a long absence , could also bounce . Gipsy De Choisel hardly has a straight forward profile either , his good win coming after a flop after another lengthy break from the track. The consistent Bashful Boy has no such reservations , comes into this in his usual good form , and is 2 from 2 at this trip .
½ pt win Bashful Boy @ 11/4
4.10 High Noon should be doing much better than of late , especially racing at his favourite track , while Pens Man can only be watched resuming duties after a 6 months break , as he flopped badly in his last two runs , with no excuses Fresh New Dawn was an all the way winner over C&D in The Autumn and recently resumed duties with an OK effort at Perth . He’s likely to get his own way up front and take some catching .
1/2pt win Fresh New Dawn @ 5/1
Market Rasen placepot
Selected Epsom – probably good to soft on this undulating , sharp and tricky track
2.00 Most of these juveniles are still learning their trade and quite a few will get a shock racing around a bend for the first time as they hurtle around this tight left hander . Self Praise was a good 2nd at Chester , so shouldn’t be phased by the bend and on breeding this extra furlong will suit and looks a very tidy ew play .
1/2pt ew Self Praise @ 8/1
2.35 The prolific and progressive Excel Power goes for the 4 timer , and the way he’s been winning , not a pipedream , despite the further 6 pound hit , also there are other front runners in the field ,which wont help him one jot. The consistent Revich has run well here before , ran well off this mark last time , is well drawn , ground versatile and this late player has Jim Crowley aboard .
1/2 pt ew Revich @ 7/1
3.10 The Group 1 Coronation Stakes and last year’s winner Pyledriver has every chance of the double on today’s ratings , but this is far from a 1 horse race . The Godolphin runner Manobo 5 wins and a 2nd In his 6 race career , drops in trip, but not hard seeing him run yet another mighty race. I’m going for a longshot in Living Legend , who gave the classy Yabir a start and a beating last time out and gets better race by race , and what an appropriate winner of this race he’d be .
¼ pt ew Living Legend @ 18/1
3.45 A strong pace is assured with at least 2 front runners , which will suit the in form snd classy handicapper Cap Francis , who went close off this mark last time and no reason why he wont be breathing down their necks late on again .
½ pt ew Cap Francis @ 7/1
4.30 The Oaks – The short priced fav is the unbeaten filly Emily Upjohn , who hasn’t really been tested yet and this longer trip shouldn’t be an issue . The field is full of unexposed and progressive fillies and I’m not playing , well happy to watch .
Selected Donny – good to soft on this flat and galloping track
5.04 This will be tougher for recent Hamilton winner Crown Princess with a penalty and switching to a speed track. Few of these are shaping up like winners about to happen , but Thrave is showing more than most off his reduced mark and has run well over C&D before .
¼ pt win Thrave @ 4/1
6.06 Many of these 3yos are still unexposed and I’m with one of the least experienced runners in recent close Haydock 2nd Samuel Spade in his first handicap . He stays on the same mark and the ground will be similar , as will be the C&D . He came from a long way back and encountered some traffic problems , and looks a very solid ew play with that experience under his belt .
1/2pt ew Samuel Spade @ 6/1
6.41 PREMIUM RACE
7.16 PREMIUM RACE
7.51 City Streak was active in the market last time at Haydock in the mud and ran a solid race off this mark to be 3rd , probably finding the ground soft enough . Better conditions likely to help . Good trainer /jockey combination , 1 from1 here .
¼ pt win City Streak @ 13/2
Selected Bath – good to firm on this undulating , sharp and stiff track
5.18 Since Clashaniska joined Adrian Wintle , the backers have been in both times, both runs over C&D and is fav in a race where few count but I prefer a play on long time maiden Silver Diva ,, running well , including over C&D and acts on quick turf .
¼ pt ew Silver Diva @ 7/1
6.20 PREMIUM RACE
6.55 The pair with experience both bring a good level of form to the table but preference for the front running Redemption Time over Stunt Game as he’s proven on a stiff circuit .
½ pt win Redemption Time @ 5/4
8.05 It’s not a deep race and the stand out form horse is Roger Varian’s Kratos , narrowly beaten in his last two , both races coming over C&d on quick ground and around this mark when given a prominent ride . Should be his day .
½ pt win Kratos @ 9/4
8.40 Sir Mark Prescott is a master of exploiting low handicap marks for his 3yos finally racing over a more appropriate trip. He runs Captain Howse , who has been beaten an aggregate total of 180 lengths in his 3 runs, but wouldn’t surprise me if he ran well off this featherweight mark of just 46 . I’m watching .
Selected Goodwood – good ground on this undulating , sharp and tricky track
5.21 Not for the first time , Uncle Dick comes into a race as the clear form horse as he’s very consistent , rarely out of the first three , but just the 1 win in 17 tries , but is proven here and arguably this is his best trip, could be win number 2 .
1/4pt win Uncle Dick @ 3/1
6.27 Not a deep race and we can expect Andre Amar to put in his usual good run and is proven on this kind of track .
¼ pt ew Andre Amar @ 7/1
7.37 Adday in asia showed more last time and doesn’t look far away from striking , especially down to a good mark .
¼ pt win Adday In Asia @ 9/2
8.12 Not a deep finale and the reliable all weather horse , Sea Of Charm, showed last time that turf is no issue with a narrow defeat at this trip and mark and a good jockey rides in this apprentices race .
½ pt win Sea Of Charm @ 11/2
