2.50 There will be no hanging around with the strong and successful front running pair of Romeo Brown and Johnson’s Blue , sure to go out hard , and the latter could struggle to keep out on this quicker ground . The strong pace will help Silver Flyer in his bid for a C&D double , as he stayed on really strongly last time in quite a steadily run affair . The 4 pound hit looks manageable and has the ground in his favour . Hard seeing the strong staying Revels Hill getting involved , especially having his first race over hurdles for almost 2 years .

4.10 A good quality Class 2 handicap hurdle , but it’s quite easy drawing a line through a number of these on quicker ground and at this trip . The clear form horse is the course winner Moveit Like Minnie but both a sharp rise in grade and a hefty 10 pound hit , would make him easy to leave out of calculations . Hunters Call is now firmly in the veteran stage , but you wouldn’t think so as he ended a consistent campaign last season with a nose 2nd at this trip at Uttoxeter on good ground , and is 2 pounds lower today , on a mark of 138 , a great testament for this old timer holding his form so well . His comeback run now looks better than it did at the time when an Ok 3rd in the Bangor mud , as the winner has gone in a few times since off higher marks . Lively longshot .

2.33 This looks very much a match between the two form horses in recent winner Heltenham and recent C&D winner How’s The Cricket , Heltenham deserved his win last time ,but it did come at the stiff Newcastle and on deep ground , and he’s a very stiff 7 pounds higher for his trouble . How’s The Cricket is 10 pounds higher for his C&D win, but won as he pleased , given them a start and a comfortable beating , the win coming on this kind of ground . He ran well off around this mark last time over a longer trip and should have the edge today .

6.40 No shortage of early pace in this with the two last time winners in Pay For Adday , who is 2 from 3 , not to be underestimated and runs for the small yet very capable stable of Simon Hodgson , who rarely ventures of long journeys to the races , and generally does very well , and is 2 from 4 here , both in handicaps. Papa Don’t Preach is the other last time winner , front rank throughout and kept going for the win and only two pounds higher , but the unlucky horse in that race , not for the first time , was Army Of India , not that well away and struggled to find room at a vital stage , and still beaten just less than a length . Golden Rainbow and Melody King are also expected to push the pace along , and all this is in the tip’s favour .The fav is the back to form Mighty Power two big runs here the last twice , the latest an unlucky 3rd off this mark, but certainly something to prove in his first ever race at the minimum .

7.40 Hats off to the prolific Comedian Leader , 4 wins and a 2nd in his last 5 , including a win over C&D , but was all out to succeed that day , and is 8 pounds higher tonight . Abbey’s Dream is another consistent sort , a win and 4 seconds in his last 5 and was very unlucky last time in his first handicap , when for once mistiming the start , but came roaring into the race in the short straight at Lingfield to be denied narrowly . Up just a pound and has a C&D win on his CV . Could upset the hotpot .
