Loveday 6.45 Curragh 5/1

Hasty Sailor 8.30 @ 2/1

Kitsune Power 4.35 @ 5/2

Sorry , can’t find anything worth risking hard-earned upon at Newton Abbot

Much the same story at Nottingham , just the one play

4.35 The lightly raced Sabyinyo was a very easy all the way winner at Brighton last time , and he’s the only pacesetter . so could get his own way up front on what looks a workable mark, but usually , Brighton form is best left for Brighton . Ermin Street unluckily lost his C&D win in The stewards Room and the 5 pound hit just adds insult to injury , so unlikely to deservedly claw that win back . The hat-trick seeking Royal Aviation has a massive 9 pound penalty to overcome and I prefer the chance of the consistent Kitsune Power , up just 2 pounds for  good 2nd last time out .

½ pt  win Kitsune Power @ 5/2

Selected Cartmel – good ground on this undulating and sharp track and a very long run in .

2.10 PREMIUM RACE

2.40 Lock Down Luke made an overdue return to the Winner’s Circle at Kelso last time, when front rank  all the way  , first time at this trip , rallying bravely to beat a useful yardstick . He’s up 5 pounds but looking at his rivals’ racing styles, he only has one other prominent racer to worry about, and another good run likely .

½ pt  win Lock Down Luke @ 9/4

3.10 Quickbuck was a huge disappointment last time and the drop in trip wont help while Battle Of Toro also ran a stinker when better expected . Decent opportunity for the far more reliable Largy Beach .

¼ pt  win Largy Beach @ 5/2

3,40 Full of ifs, buts and maybes

4.15 The ex-Irish Rapid Flight won very well for Jimmy Moffat over C&D just a few days ago but up 7 pounds in a tougher race . The return to this trip is in the favour of the well handicapped  and reliable Bobs Bar . The short priced fav is the useful hurdler Captain Morgs, an excellent 2nd at Aintree last time out over hurdles . This is his first chase , but hold up types don’t often do well here , despite Nicky Henderson making a rare 460 mile round trip . Happy to watch .

4.50 Reikers Island won this very well last year and the only horse that can stop the double is Glen Forsa , and as both are skinny odds, happy to watch .

Selected Ripon – good ground on this undulating and sharp track

5.00 The unraced Eyeeye runs for top trainer George Boughey , known for bringing juveniles along very well , and this one has to be of interest as he cost just £9000 as a foal but recently changed hands for £100,000 , often a good sign of ability . The stable is 0 from 9 here , but still brings this youngster , alone, on the 360 mile round trip .

¼ pt  win Eyeeye @ 4/1

5.35 I watched May Punch last time and looked to me as it was just a matter of time, before this front runner, was overhauled and fell into a hole , but how wrong can you be as she went a terrific gallop , over C&D , and held on in a close finish, with fresh air back to the 3rd . The 6 pound hit looks harsh and in this uncompetitive heat , the progressive Come On John is preferred . He overcame a lot of trouble to land a small field handicap at Thirsk , drawing clear in the end , and last time out ran a solid race in higher grade . He’s now operating on a stiff enough mark , but should still be good enough .

¼ pt  win Come On John @ 9/4

6.05 The front running iur Cinh tra goes for the hat-trick , but now on a stiff mark and probably better over a furlong less. In another uncompetitive race , Bay Breeze is in much calmer waters than last time in a hot York handicap and previously lost little in defeat when 3rd off this mark at Donny .

¼ pt  win Bay Breeze @ 2/1

6.35 This C&D has thrown up many a specialist over the years , and Fortamour is heading that way with 3 wins from 5 , but is a  stiff pound higher than his last win , which of course will test. This looks pretty open with the back to form Tinto just 3 pounds higher for a good win and the evergreen Bossipop , a 4 times C&D winner , coming here in good form and has the best of the draw for a front runner . I’m with a 6 times course winner in  Mark’s Choice , who finished very well here last time and is slowly working his way down the ratings again . Don’t expect any fireworks early and the low draw , requires a canny ride from the able apprentice aboard .

Selected Curragh – good ground on this undulating , galloping and stiff track

5.10 Auguste Rodin is odds on despite this being his debut , as he is the first foal of the classy and tenacious Rhododendron , but it’s quite rare for  an O’Brien horse to be ready first time. I prefer a dabble on another newcomer in Dubawi Spectre , trained by Jessie Harrington and cost high profile connections £410,000 .

¼ pt  win Dubawi Spectre @ 6/1

6.45 The vast majority of these 3yo sprinters are far more potent over an extra furlong , the exception is the front running Loveday , who has hit the frame in both runs over C&D , the latest In a Listed event , putting her on a workable mark in her handicap debut . She ran well first time last year , so should be fit enough to do herself justice.

½ pt  win Loveday @ 5/1

Selected Kempton – all weather – polytrack

6.25 PREMIUM RACE

6.55 Audience brings very strong form to the table and  as he’s closely related to some smart all weather types, could take his form to an even higher level switching from turf , well drawn and hard to beat .

½ pt  win Audience @evens

7.30 PREMIUM RACE

8.30 Lower Street is a massively progressive filly and when last seen was a clear cut winner of a valuable fillies handicap at Lingfield , beating a good field , and this longer trip is in the favour of this late player , so could be up to overcoming the 5 pound hit . The ex-Irish Sea Appeal has her first start for Richard Hughes who does well with new intakes and this lightly raced front runner landed a double on easy ground , before getting stuck in the Gowran Park mud . He starts life off a stiff enough mark , but again hard to rule out . The admirable Pearl Beach will again run her race and give supporters a good run for their money , but she is know on a vey stiff mark . It could be an early celebration for Her Majesty as the strong staying Hasty Sailor runs in her colours and was unlucky in the run over C&D last time out , behind a couple of useful yardsticks , and stays on the same mark. Dubai welcome returns from 20 months off the track , but stays with Godolphin , and is another with claims .

1/ 2pt  win Hasty Sailor @ 2/1
