He can Hold On in the 4.05

Commis D’Office 4.15 @ 9/4

Hereford – good ground on this flat and sharp track

I’m giving this meeting the swerve as there are a couple of solid short priced ones and the handicaps look very open and as they’re small fields , precious little reward even  if fortunate to get it right .

Selected Musselburgh = probably good to soft on this flat and galloping track

2.20 Many of these are regulars over C&D and are also rare winners so worth trying the prolific novice Byzantine Empire , who was caught out by the soft ground last time , but remains on a workable mark judged on his close 4th at Cheltenham off a higher mark .

¼ pt  win  Byzantine Empire @ 10/3

2.55 With plenty of early pace around , this wont help the consistent Moon King as he’s an out and out front runner who will have a tough job dominating in this and could easily run his race early . The strong pace will help the consistent Goodtimes Badtimes, who’s held his form well since an easy win off a 10 pound lower mark and will be putting in big ones late on .

¼ pt  win Goodtimes Badtimes @ /2

3.30 PREMIUM RACE

4.05 This will take little winning and the unexposed Hold On The Line made practically all over C&D last time for a clear win and the 4 pound hit looks pretty generous . Quicker ground today , but no reason he shouldn’t act upon it .

½ pt  win Hold On The line @ 7/2

Selected Newton Abbot – probably soft ground on this flat and sharp track

1.55 PREMIUM RACE

2.30 Looks a match between the 4 timer seeking West To The Bridge , but how will he cope with the much longer trip and hasn’t convinced in stamina tests before while Take Your Time was pulled up last time on ground which shouldn’t have been an issue ??

No Bet

4.15 The front running Commis D’Office comes here in fine form and brings the strongest current form to the table and around this sharp C&D on ideal ground, will be hard to catch .

Selected Dundalk – all weather – polytrack

5.00 The late playing and ultra consistent Collective Power put in  yet another big run over C&D last time when a close 2nd and with just a one pound penalty , looks sure to be involved and a deserved win should be his, and the majority of his rivals are track regulars held on form .

½ pt   win Collective Power @ 2/1

5.30 The Virginian returned from a very lengthy absence recently and in his first handicap on polytrack , gave them all a start and a beating and had Jack Peter behind , who was a good 2nd behind Dances With Stars over C&D next time . The tip is thoroughly unexposed so could well be up to the 5 pound hit but of course the major issue is whether he will “ Bounce “ meaning that long time absentees can often run very poorly 2nd time back after the break , but still worth the risk at nice odds .

½ pt  win The Virginian @ 8/1

6.30 Dubrinago comes here on the back of a most solid effort over C&D off around this mark when 2nd and that run makes him the one to beat .

¼ pt  win Dubrinago @ 9/4

7.00 Guiseppe Cassioli celebrated his move to Ireland with a clear win here but would do very well doubling up with a very hefty 7 pound penalty but the extra yardage no issue . Super Over is rarely far away here and comes here on the back of 2 big runs when placed over C&D off around this mark , and unlikely to be far away again . Elzaam Blue is 2 from 2 , both wins coming over C&D but would do very well overcoming the 7 pound penalty for a narrow win over a cluster of these , including Adapt to Dan , Zahee and Tyrconnell , all capable of revenge at the revised weights , but as the tip failed by just a short head last time , a deserved win could come his way .

¼ pt win Super Over @ 5/1

7.30 The prolific Adams Barbour ran very well off his present testing mark to be 3rd , after for once fluffing the start , failing in his 4 timer bid. He’s won at this longer trip but is better at the minimum and the well handicapped Inflection Point has showed of late that his turn is not far off .Jered Maddox would do very well to land the hat-trick now racing on a very testing mark .

1/4pt  win Inflection Point @ 11/2

8.00 Despite having the worst of the draw, Maccliff has found himself in a very  winnable heat against rivals generally having it to do . The fav is Inductive, who is on a long losing run and likely to have been flattered when 2nd over C&D last time at long odds when 6 pounds out of the handicap .

¼ pt  win Maccliff @ 5/1

Selected Newcastle – all weather – tapeta – the track is stiff and galloping

5.40 PREMIUM RACE

6.15 Not a deep maiden and likely to be fought out by the two winners in the field but preference is for recent Wolver debut winner Boulivar over last time Kempton winner Bizarre Law , who returns from a 4 months break and is unproven on the surface .

½ pt  win Boulivar @ 9/4

6.45 Robert Walpole has obviously been hard to keep sound with so few racecourse appearances and is now with top trainer Roger Varian and rewarded the faithful with a last gasp win at Southwell at this trip , and the winner has sluiced in since , but the 4 pound penalty is likely to test so preference for the ultra reliable Coase , a hold up type who’s been very unlucky in the run the last twice , both off this mark and once over C&D. Due a change of luck .

1/2pt  win Coase @ 4/1

7.15 The lightly raced Lady Lou was an 80/1 winner at Southwell , first try at this trip , and showed that was no fluke when a close 2nd over the same C&D and no reason why she shouldn’t act on this stiffer circuit and this late player is preferred over Loose lips , 3 pounds higher for his narrow defeat over C&D a few starts back .

½ pt  win Lady Lou @ 7/2

7.45 The fav is recent Wolver 2nd Hot Doggity Dog who was well supported returning from a break and dropping in trip and only failed by a neck and the winner went in next time under a penalty , but he’s 4 pounds higher tonight which makes dual C&d winner Lunasa of interest , just 3 pounds higher for his last win, which came pretty easily .

1/2pt  ew Lunasa @9/1

8.15 Blackcurrent is a cracking low grade sprinter ,especially on tapeta and he’s won 4 of his last 6 races  and comes here on a hat-trick and just 2 pounds higher for another gutsy C&D win , but 2 pounds is quite a lot in the basement and is closely matched with the consistent yet hard to win with Joshua R and the back to form Elzaal . The fav is recent Southwell winner Lynn’s Boy who sluiced in defying a lengthy absence , making all for  a wide margin win , and similar makes him very hard to beat , or is this race coming too soon ?

¼ pt  ew  Blackcurrent @ 7/1
