2.05 A Listed Race for 2yos , and only one in the 11 strong field has yet to win . the fav is Minnetonka who spreadeagled the field when making all on debut at Salisbury , so this C&D should suit well but she wont have an easy time of things up front today with 3 other front runners . Lezoo also ran to a good level when winning on debut at Bath , so again this C&D should suit . She came willingly off the pace that day and is preferred in a race likely to be run to suit .

3.15 Pogo was handed a soft lead at Haydock last time and wasn’t for passing despite earnest challenges from both Laneqash and Sunray Major , who both finished close up. Pogo has to carry a penalty today but was successful over C&D last year ,again making all, giving more weight to Laneqash , so at nice odds , worth a dabble that he can repeat .

He’s only a pound higher for an all the way win at Wolver , taking advantage of the handicapper’s generosity and no reason why this tactically versatile type won’t run his race again , at juicy odds .

1.50 The late playing Strike Red ran a cracker last time and this dual C&d winner could get back on the scoresheet today , but does require a strong pace to come off , which is unlikely today , as there is only one front runner in If You Dare . Twice a winner this term , both from the front , and just a pound higher for his last win . He is proven on the surface , and as he’s won over further , this C&D should hold no terrors and could be hard to catch . The in form trio of Rolfe Rembrandt , Be proud and Sound Reason are all much more potent over a furlong less . The tip has disappointed the last twice , but has had excuses .

2.25 A very valuable and competitive Group 3 sprint and the fav is the 4 timer seeking Sense Of Duty , but this one has it to find at the ratings and is untried on synthetics. The front running Glen Shiel has a terrific record here , 3 wins and 2 places from 5 tries , but he’s now an 8yo , and despite still being rated a lofty 114 , has only run to 104 in both runs this season . Edraak is a consistent and useful sprinter and last time we saw him over C&d was on Good Friday when he was a chinned a short head over C&D by a French challenger and that performance puts him right in the picture today .

2.55 The Pitman’s Derby Consolation race and the fav is the prolific and progressive Evauation , but with a further 5 pound penalty would do very well to land the 5 timer and only run on tapeta wasn’t good . You can really make a good case for many in this wide open handicap but I’m trying the consistent Haveyoumissedme , who comes here on the back of two good runs on turf but is also a course winner . Tactically versatile and a nice ew play .

3.30 The very valuable Pitman’s Derby , and it’s as open as ever but I’m with a runner who was an excellent close 4th in this last year and is 2 pound lower today and also has the services of an excellent 5 pound claimer . Island Brave has had a similar preparation to last year and has actually ran better in them than last season . Expect a prominent and gutsy run .
