Selected Fontwell – good ground on this sharp track

1.00The clear form horse is the consistent Dom Of Mary , who ran a cracker last time but it did come on the Sandown mud , so very different conditions today , but if not wildly inconvenienced by the ground , you’d expect this 4/6 to oblige . The ex-French Translation was thrown into The Lion’s Den on his first start for Gary Moore taking his chance in a very hot big field Grade 3 handicap at Sandown In the mud and was way out of his depth and pulled up relatively early . Only one runner has experience on good ground and that’s Newtonian , who ran to a decent level in bumpers ,one of them here and didn’t do terribly on his hurdles debut in the Taunton mud in quite a warm race .Could surprise .

½ pt  ew  Newtonian @ 14/1

1.30 Hard to see Goa Lil making much impact down in trip around this sharp track and hard seeing beyond the useful handicapper Friend Or Foe , who remains on a good mark , is likely to set out and make all and will take some catching around this  sharp track.

¾ pt win Friend Or Foe @ 11/10

2.05 The ground has come right for the front running Chanceux , who is certainly on a workable mark and all of his rivals would be happier with some juice In the ground .

¼ pt  win Chanceaux @ 2/1

2.40 Give Me a moment destroyed quite a decent field at Fakenham last time and despite a slight drop in trip and a 7 pound hit , he’s certainly going the right way over fences and likely to be another all the way winner , but I can afford to pass at 4/9.

Selected Uttoxeter – probably good ground on this quite sharp and undulating track with a long run straight .

4.45 Quite an open event but C&d winner Hard to Forget looks overpriced for his chance as he landed a decent event at Donny two starts back admittedly off a 6 pound lower mark and ran well off this mark next time at Southwell. Nice ew play .

½ pt  ew Hard To Forget @ 11/1

No Uttoxeter placepot

Selected Navan – probably good ground on this undulating , stiff and galloping track

2.15 New York City is making a right meal of shedding his maiden tag , but this looks to be at his mercy , but I wouldn’t advise going all in at 1/5 !

2.50 Teddy Boy comes here on the back of an admirable series of runs on the Dundalk all weather and this late player is a dual C&D winner and acts on the ground . Only worry is that there’s not much early pace so could struggle to get competitive . Let’s hope something goes off like the clappers . Amazing Emma just may provide that service .

¼ pt  win Teddy Boy @ 7/2

3.25 Despite the big field , hard to fancy many and plenty are returning from a break and have no record running fresh. Rodney Bay comes here on the back of some decent runs over hurdles and his flat form makes him of some interest as he’s only 2 pounds higher than his last win , a good ground handicap over a slightly shorter trip and is preferred .

¼ pt  win Rodney Bay @ 13/2

4.35 Another O’Brien hotpot in Stone Age, another who has yet to win but he’s been competing very well in Group races around this trip and ground and this should be vey much a formality , but is 1/5.

Selected Wolver – all weather – tapeta

6.00 PREMIUM RACE

7.00 It was a very winnable heat which Percy Willis won last time, and they finished in a heap suggesting unreliable form ,  and a further 2 pound hit makes life even harder . The hat-trick seeking Red Flyer is only 2 pounds for an easy win at Lingfield last time , but does have a rare try on tapeta. The lightly raced Najeeba is with a top stable and when last seen , 5 months ago, was a cosy winner at this trip at Newcastle , so proven on the surface and the absence unlikely to be an issue as she has her races well spaced out . She’s on a good mark in  her handicap debut and this looks a golden opportunity .

½ pt  win Nejeeba @ 11/8

7.30 Bakersboy is still winless after 13 tries and despite a big run over C&D last time out when trying to make all, and not stopping , he was beaten a couple of lengths and is 2 pounds higher for his trouble . Dual course winner Plumette has a nasty 4 pound hit for a good win here last time , and the longer trip is a further issue. Carey Street is very much a regular here and no complaints with his track record of 2 wins and 7 places from 14 tries and comes here on the back of another big run over C&D when narrowly beaten , and hardly had the rub of the green in that race. He has the worst of he draw and is up a pound but still likely to be in there pitching . Eloso is hard to evaluate as this ex-Irish race well in his first race in Britain to be a close 2nd at Lingfield, but would rather watch going up in trip and first try on the surface .

½ pt  ew  Carey Street @ 8/1

8.00 A good quality Class 3 handicap for 3yos and some lightly raced ones who look sure to go on to greater things . The even money fav is Godolphin’s Stormy Ocean , an easy all the way winner at Newcastle last time , a win which gives him a few pounds in hand on his handicap mark and has to go close in this as does the clear 2nd fav in the lightly raced Dayman . an impressive winner here last time over a furlong shorter , which doesn’t look an issue and is very generously handicapped , looking to have about 8 pounds in hand over his rating . This pair dominate the market and there are some useful types at long odds worth considering . Taj Alola , has 2 wins , 2 seconds and a 4th on his CV from just 5 starts . He comes here on the back of two narrow defeats , both times on this surface, but a cruel 2 pound hit makes life harder , but should still give us a very good run at long odds .
