50p ew Trixie & 50p ew treble
Classic Escape 5.08 @ 13/2
Systemic 2.00 @ 11/2
Age of Wisdom 3.10 @ 7/1
Selected Fontwell – good ground on this sharp track
1.00A definite match and if I was given a free bet I’d prefer Hecouldbetheone over Milan Bridge as he’s likely to get the run of the race up front , is a course winner and suited by drying ground .
1.30 Goa Lil impressed when winning here last time and is only 2 pounds higher and the longer trip no issue . Looks a solid fav .
½ pt win Goa Lil @ 7/4
2.00 It wasn’t the greatest race ever which Gold Souk landed last time out in his first handicap, and as he has no penalty , understandable he’s short in the market but I’d rather be with decent flat horse Systemic an unlucky late faller at Plumpton and did little wrong last time . Solid ew .
½ pt ew Systemic @ 11/2
3.10 Heron Creek was well backed in his first handicap last time at Chepstow, but it wasn’t much of a race and the 7 pound penalty will test and goes up markedly in trip . Age Of Wisdom was a close 2nd over C&D last time out and looks another vey solid ew play .
½ pt ew Age Of Wisdom @ 7/1
Aintree – probably good to soft on this flat and galloping track
1.45 PREMIUM RACE
2.20 The bookies make the prolific Jonbon the short priced fav and he lost his unbeaten record at The Cheltenham Festival, trailing in the wake of superstar elect Constitution Hill and has the form in the book to go close but his stablemate First Street has to be of considerable interest . He doesn’t know how to run a bad race 3 wins and 4 places from just 8 tries and comes here on the back of two massive runs in top handicaps, a closing 2nd in the Betfair and an excellent 2nd of 26 in The County Hurdle at The Cheltenham Festival, only giving best to one who looks way ahead of the game . The Willie Mullins trained El fabiolo is impossible to fully assess but both runs have come on deep ground and his basic form leaves him with at least a stone to find . Aucunrisque comes here on a 4 timer and this strong running front runner looks the one for longshot players but the tip looks so solid ew.
½ pt ew First Street @ 4/1
2.55 Only 4 go but can you pick the winner ! The massively prolific and progressive L’Homme Presse has answered every call and was a smart winner at The Cheltenham Festival in the mud getting the better of the useful Ahoy Senor , whose moment of true glory came at this meeting last year when defying long odds to get the better of Bravemansgame ,fair and square in the 3 mile novice hurdle . Bravemansgame is 4 from 4 over fences and the drying ground is more in his favour than L’Homme Presse, but with so many ifs and buts ,well happy to watch the spectacle .
3.30 A good field for this Grade 1 Chase but last year’s winner Fakir D’Ourdaires , comes here in his usual good form and will be hard to beat . Funanbule Sivola has developed into a top notch 2 mile chaser , 2nd in The Champion Chase , but doubts staying the extra half mile .
½ pt win Fakir D’Ourdaires @ 5/4
4.05 PREMIUM RACE
4.40 The form horse is the Irish raider , Banbridge , after his smart win at CHeltenha, but does go up in trip by half a mile and with so many useful novices going up in trip, an impossible race to deliver a learned analysis.
5.15 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Sedgefield – good to soft on this undulating and sharp track .
5.08The well handicapped Classic Escape runs this C&D very well and with his main rivals now on stiff enough marks, looks a cracking ew play .
½ pt ew Classic Escape @ 13/2
Selected Dundalk- all weather – polytrack
5.20 A couple of fascinating unraced juveniles here in Alexis Zorba and Blackbeard , who both cost around £300,000 ! so well worth a watch if not a bet .
5.50 Collective Power is admirably consistent over C&D , but the handicapper has him where he wants him , 5 seconds in his last 6 , and a 2 pound nudge up the ratings isn’t going to help his cause . Kings View is a regular over C&D and very closely matched with Collective Power but is 0 from 46 !! but as he’s rarely far away , on a good mark and every dog ( or horse ) has his day , could be his .
¼ pt ew Kings View @ 15/2
6.50 Spirituoso had been showing very little and was a 66/1 winner over C&D 2 starts back but has backed that up with a close 3rd again over C&D and off this mark . Nice ew play .
¼ pt ew Spirituoso @ 9/1
Selected Kempton – all weather – polytrack
6.30 This will take little winning as recent winner Busby is a very doubtful stayer . Track specialist Ilhabela Fact had plummeted in the ratings due to a series of very poor runs, but without warning popped in last time out , and despite the 4 pound hit and that not being the strongest of heats , worth a dabble .
¼ pt win Ilhabela Fact @ 9/1
7.00 Another race which wont take much winning and the bang in form Across The Nile was narrowly beaten off this mark last time at Wolver but has run well here in the past and taken to overcome the wide draw. Lucayan is the clear danger .
½ pt win Across The Nile @ 9/2
7.30 The short list is very long with plenty of in form types bringing solid credentials to the table . Despite a wide draw, Sir Gregory’s recent C&D stands up to close scrutiny and worth a dabble at nice odds In an open affair .
¼ pt ew Sir Gregory @ 8/1
