3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Bonita B 2.25 @ 3/1
Dakota Gold 3.25 @ 5/2
Ayr Poet 1.48 @ 10/3
Selected Ayr- good to firm on this flat and galloping track
1.48 This will take little winning and the well handicapped Ayr Poet showed definite signs of a revival last time and should be landing this .
1/2pt win Ayr Poet @ 10/3
2.18 A very trappy event and even though recent course 2nd Water Of Leith is the odds on fav , this late player drops in trip and hard to formulate a conclusion .
2.48 Track regular Glasses Up is in top form and likely to try and make all , but now on a stiff mark and both What’s The story , whose latest effort was a cracker now down to a good mark , but off putting he hasn’t won for 3 years , and the capable Chance , who runs for a top Southern stable with a great record making long treks to the races , all looks too close to call.
3.48 Retirement Beckons is certainly the likely winner , but I can afford to pass in this low grade event at short odds.
Selected Ripon – good ground on this undulating and sharp track
1.55 Those with experience don’t make much appeal and worth a dabble on the Richard Fahey newcomer in Barefoot Angel , a £120,000 purchase and the stable is a healthy 13 from 65 in juvenile maidens here .
1/4pt win Barefoot Angel @ 10/1
2.25 I’m with the consistent Bonita B frequently and went down all guns blazing at Southwell last time , trying to make all from the worst of the draw and chinned by an unexposed one. She stays on the same mark and the drop in trip no real hardship , especially with an early lead up for grabs .
1/2pt win Bonita B @ 3/1
2.55 As Blistering Barney, Hellenista and Storm Chaser are all likely to run their races prematurely battling for the lead , this looks set up for the late playing Tazaman , but I can pass at short odds .
3.25 A good quality Class 2 handicap and a couple of top notch sprint handicappers are likely to go eyeball to eyeball, flared nostril to flared nostril and neither will give an inch, but at the ratings and over this C&D on drying ground , the back to form Dakota Gold gets the nod over Hyperfocus.
1/2pt win Dakota Gold @ 5/2
3.55 All of these are making a meal of getting their noses in front but Gainsbourg hasn’t been far away of late and gives the impression this longer trip will suit .
1/4pt win Gainsbourg @ 10/3
4.25 Roach Power is at least 10pounds clear on the ratings but is making a meal shedding his maiden tag and for those of you who are brave enough to shove on a long odds on shot , he also returns from a 2 months break and drops to 5 furlongs for the first time .
Selected Carlisle – good ground on this undulating , stiff and galloping track
Carlisle puts this unique card together annually , all jockeys female, professional and amateur .
4.55 Despite being a few pounds too high , Chinese Spirit is holding his form well and in a field of late players , he could take the bull by the horns early on and pinch this under a smart rider .
1/4pt win Chinese Spirit @ 4/1
5.30 PREMIUM RACE
6.05 Not a great deal of early pace in this and while Barenboim could have been doing better of late , as he’s the likely front runner , has to be respected . Iolani is rarely far away over this C&D and this late player taken to nab the spoils late on .
1/4pt win Iolani @ 9/2
6.40 The very well handicapped Diocletian showed much more last time , and this stiffer track should help .
1/4pt win Diocletian @ 6/1
7.15 PREMIUM RACE
7.45 Understandable to a degree that the bang in form prominent racer Liberation Point is the short priced fav , bringing strong form to the table and has been a revelation since sporting blinkers and taken to beat a couple of respected and capable Southern raiders in Bowland Park and dandy Maestro .
1/4pt win Liberation Point @ 15/8
8.15 Poet’s Dawn certainly deserves a win and being the likely front runner in a field of mostly late players is of course an advantage . Mark a bit high, but may still be hard to catch .
1/4pt win Poet’s Dawn @ 3/1
8.45 Langholm will certainly run his race from the front but is now in the grip of the handicapper and dropping in trip , will only result in this being a true run race which brings all of the consistent quartet of Katys Bob, Somewhere Secret , Kilconquhar and Iris Dancer bang in contention . Hard to split but the tip’s recent 2nd over C&D off this mark tips the scales .
1/4pt win Iris Dancer @ 9/2
Selected Windsor – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
