Dylan to get it on the Bob in the 3.55

3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble

If Not For Dylan 3.55 @ 7/2

Mirabello Bay 7.00 @ 11/1

Hellavapace 5.25 @ 13/2

Selected Brighton – soft ground on this undulating , sharp and very tricky track

2.05  Plenty of in form types but all tested off their current marks and most have it to prove on the testing ground . It’s a rare sight seeing a Godolphin horse here , and the in form stable of Saeed Bin Suroor , runs the well handicapped Rich Waters , who is down in grade  and his only win  came in this class . He’s had some stiff tasks of late and worth chancing on the ground .

1/2pt  win Rich Waters @ 5/1

3.15 Angels Roc was a facile winner over C&D 2 starts back , but hard seeing a repeat on an 8 pound higher mark , but at least the soft ground won’t be a hindrance and the same can be said about last time C&D winner Parikarma , up 5 pounds for an easy win on easy ground and likely to be involved again  Letter Of The Law has finally responded to the assistance from the handicapper , coming here on the back of two respectable efforts , a bold effort from the front at this trip at Chelmsford City , beaten just over a length and previously a running on 4th of 14 at Chepstow on soft ground . Nice outsider .

Selected Carlisle – probably good ground on this undulating ,stiff and galloping track

1.00Only 2 go in this opener , but it’s very hard to call and both are admirably prolific and reliable types . Tommy’s Oscar runs for The Hamiltons , who only have a handful of horses , but all have something in common, a fantastic strike rate and Tommy’s Oscar arguably the most prolific of them all , 8 wins in 15 races . and today goes chasing off his hurdles handicap mark of 155 , lofty but very accurate . His rival is the 5 timer seeking Geronimo . The pair met in a Haydock handicap hurdle , and there wasn’t a great deal between them , and unlikely to be the same today . I’m looking forward to watching the spectacle .

1.35 Shaw’s Bridge is certainly getting closer as the handicapper releases his grip and as he’s at his best on a stiff track , looks a solid ew play against rivals who have it to prove on a stiff circuit or returning from a break with no record running well fresh .

1/2pt ew  Shaw’s Bridge @ 6/1

2.10 Springwell Bay has run two big races in his bumpers and it looks like the £155,000 forked out for him will be money well spent , but is 1/2.

3.55 The front running Wheelbahri severely took off last season and put in a terrific series of 4 wins and 2 seconds in his last 6 starts , his final one being a creditable 2nd over C&D off this mark . It took him a bit of time to get going last year and as he won’t have the front to himself today with the admirably consistent Tico Times , 2 wins and 3 places in his last 5, but is creeping up the ratings . He ran a cracker at Kelso , with another consistent sort in If Not For Dylan , a neck behind in 3rd , and with a 2 pound pull and with this stiffer track likely to be in his favour, can stay on the best in a strongly run race .

1/2pt win  If Not For Dylan @7/2

Selected Chelmsford City – all weather – polytrack

5.25 The consistent Hallavapace doesn’t win many , but is  rarely far away and comes here on the back of two successive seconds , the latest at Lingfield at this trip , when beaten narrowly and had both My Bonnie Lassie and Maylah fairly close up in 3rd and 4th  and both have a slight pull in the weights , but as the 3rd horse needs to lead to be seen at her best , which is unlikely in this big field from a wide draw and Maylah’s dorm has plateaued out since reaching this mark , another honest run by the tip expected .

1/2pt ew  Hellavapace @ 13/2

5.55 On official ratings , Waiting all Night is well clear , but since scoring on debut and looking quite useful , he’s taken some severe backwards steps of late and was turned over at 1/5 last time , running at least a stone below his mark . I wouldn’t want to be with him at short odds .

6.30 Running Lion opened his account with a clear win at this trip at Lingfield , and despite carrying a penalty and returning from a 2 months break, likely to be hard to beat, but is 1/2.

7.00 Oasis Power wasn’t beaten very far at Southwell , but his effort did flatten out late on , casting doubts about this longer trip being in his favour . Solitary Trees holds his form well , but is now on a stiff enough mark and another who may not get this longer trip . Mirabello Bay is proven at around this trip with a long odds win at Wolver and comes here on the back of a highly creditable close 3rd in a far better nursery at Windsor , and off a slightly lower mark , is chanced switching to polytrack , especially at juicy odds .

1/2pt win Mirabello Bay @ 12/1

8.00 The vast majority of these come here under a cloud , making the recent winners in Cry Havoc and Dynamic Talent , the ones to concentrate upon , despite both now on  stiff marks. Cry Havoc’s win came out of the blue , but beat a good field and IF , in the same mood today , could double up , but the wide draw and absence of 2 months are negatives . Dynamic Talent comes here on a hat-trick and this prominent racer is looking ahead of the game .

1/2pt  win Dynamic Talent @ 7/2

8.30 A Class 3 to end the card , but the majority of these are not in form or have wide draws to overcome . Croupier is going well and remains on a workable mark but as this is his first try on synthetics , I’m with a long priced one in The Gosden’s Spinaround , a C&d winner off just a 2 pound lower mark , and has held his form pretty well since off higher marks , except for last time , but was badly hampered during the contest . His task is made a bit easier by the booking of the leading apprentice who claims a valuable 3 pounds .

1/2pt  ew Spinaround @ 16/1
