3 1 pound doubles & 1 pound ew treble
Our The Sons 4.13 10/1
Dal Mallart 5.33 5/2
Hyperfocus 6.38 7/4
Selected Donny – probably good to firm on this flat and galloping track
1.00Emily Post relished the stiff circuit at Carlisle to break her duck last time with Alethiometer 3 lengths bac in 3rd but with a 5 pound pull and a switch to this speed track , where previously the tip was a close 3rd , taken to gain revenge and register a deserved win for her consistent efforts .
1/4pt win Alethiometer @ 3/1
1.35 Eligible was a shock winner at Ponty , but beat a couple of in form rivals well and last time was hampered at a crucial time at Beverley off this mark . Just hoping this hold up type has the pace around here .
1/4pt win Eligible @ 5/1
2.10 The short priced fav is the William Haggas lightly raced Sea On Time, whose bare form gives her a bit to find but does have a Group 2 entry , so better expected , but this is quite a deep maiden .
2.45 This will take little winning and the short priced fav is the 4 timer seeking Mostly Cloudy , but the 9 pound hit could be a stopper , but who’s going to beat him ?
3.20 PREMIUM RACE
3.55 Haveagomecca is rarely far away and no reason why he wont run his race again and this could possibly drop his way.
1/4pt win Haveagomecca @ 7/2
4.30 Idoaplogise comes here on a much improved effort which came over C&D on quick ground , held for a late charge . losing narrowly , and down a pound today . Little Muddy was only a length behind but hard seeing a switch around .
1/2pt win Idoapologise @ 6/4
Selected Sandown – good to firm on this stiff and galloping track
1.50 Rocket Rodney is firmly established as one of the top juvenile sprinters around after his excellent close 2nd of 24 at Royal Ascot , front rank throughout and seeing it out manfully and on a similar C&D and ground , he is certainly the one to beat , but this is a good field, so well happy just to watch at evens .
2.20 PREMIUM RACE
2.55 This looks a match between the pair with good experience , but as our Nation is drawn well and proven over C&D , when an unlucky 2nd and also on the ground , has the edge over Stormbuster .
1/pt win Our Nation 7/4
3.30 The bookies are running scared of William Haggas after his 4 timer at Haydock yesterday and within an ace of a full house . He saddles recent C&D winner Golden Voice who was all out to win and is 5 pounds higher . Lethal Nymph must have every chance of a reversal with a 5 pounds pull for 2 lengths . It’s not a 2 horse race at all with all of Gailac, Hodler and Cabinet of Clowns having clear claims and the latter looks overpriced for his chance .
1/4pt win Cabinet Of Clowns 12/1
4.05 The very wonderful Addeyb is now an 8yo and won’t have his ideal deep ground today but this front runner will make a right fist of it but likely to be run down late on and after an excellent 4th at Royal Ascot, it’s the late playing C&D winner Regal Reality for me .
1/4pt win Regal Reality 4/1
4.38 PREMIUM RACE
5.08 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Newton Abbot – good ground on this flat and sharp track
2.00 A most uncompetitive novice hurdle and the nod goes to the ex-Irish pointer Ami des Bois , a good 2nd on her recent debut on good ground and this longer trip will suit . The odds on fav is Sure Touch ,but could find the ground a bit lively .
1/4pt win Ami Des Bois 2/1
2.30 The drop in trip and nudge up the ratings won’t help the reliable Kolisi whle the front running State Crown continues to struggle but is now down to a good mark , has the ground in his favour and is 2 from 2 over C&D . Krypton Gold ran a cracker at Aintree last time when 3rd in a competitive handicap but the nod just goes to the well handicapped Clearance who is certainly back on track after a smooth C&D win last time and 5 pounds up still puts him on a good mark on old form .
1/4pt win Clearance 7/2
3.40 Very much a match and Mucuna and Free Chakarate crossed swords at Aintree ,with the former victorious , and likely to conform form with the able 7 pound claimer Bradley Harris riding .
1/2pt win Mucuna 6/4
4.13 Little Gesture is very much a regular here and 2 wins not a bad return . She’s now high in the ratings but this longer trip could balance the books . Our Three sons returned from a long absence to make all over a longer trip and a much lower mark , but ran well off this mark when 3rd at Southwell. He was still going very well when taking a late fall last time out at this trip and around this sharp circuit , could take some reeling in .
1/2pt win Our Three Sons 10/1
4.50 Nelson Rock was very impressive winning over C&D last time out on similar ground and the 5 pound hit could be In hand .
1/4pt win Nelson Rock 6/4
Newton Abbot placepot
Selected Haydock – good to soft on this flat and galloping track
5.33 Dal Mallart looks a very solid fav as she won on easy ground at Bath and followed that up with a close 3rd at Nottingham and the 2nd horse has run very well since . Up just a pound and this C&D and ground both likely to suit this late player . Another In form late player is the soft ground loving Do I dream , but a 5 pound hit for coming only 2nd no help. The lightly raced Quivering has been well supported and runs for a good stable , but really hasn’t showed a great deal and returns from a 7 months absence.
1/2pt win Dal Mallart 5/2
6.38 Hyperfocus had a very light season last year but has bounced back to his very best and this strong front runner , who loves soft ground , remains on a good mark and is 3 from 4 here .
3/4pt win Hyperfocus 13/8
7.08 The lightly raced Tothenines broke his duck last time with a smart win in a Ripon maiden and previously ran very well in a handicap here on soft ground , just finding an extra furlong too far on the ground and is preferred to the heavily penalised True Gem .
1/4pt win Tothenines 10/3
Selected Beverley – good to firm on this stiff and galloping track
7.23 the fav is the ageing Hayadh , who had a facile looking task in a similar contest at Redcar last time and was well turned over , running to a level nowhere near his mark of 75. Latenightmistake has been going well in handicaps and preferred despite the ground being quick enough .
1/4pt win . Latenightmistake 11/2
7.53 Stripzee responded well to the drop in the ratings over C&D last time out , when switched to hold up tactics and stormed through to be just half a length short at the line . He’s 3 pounds higher but a 3 pound claimer takes the reins and if riding as effective as last time , could go one better .
1/4pt win Stripzee 5/1
8.23 Let Her Loose is holding her form very well and only beaten a length last time off around this mark . Calculus caused a massive shock over C&D last time under a most enterprising ride from Kieran Schofield who keeps the ride , unsurprisingly . He kicked for home with a mile to go and opened up a 20 lengths lead , and we were all waiting for him to wilt , but he didn’t and clung on for a narrow win . Up 4 pounds and as whitcliffe goes with the pace , hard to see a repeat. Violette Szabo has a good record here but has been struggling for some time , but was backed last time , so interesting , but the tip far more reliable .
1/4pt win Let Her Loose 4/1
8.55 The front running Paddy Elliott made it 28th time lucky with an all the way win over C&D last time . Well drawn for the double and not much early pace in opposition . He’s 4 pounds higher but a decent 3 pound claimer now takes the reins .
1/2pt win Paddy Elliott 7/2
