Jewel set to sparkle in the 1.55

3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble

Midnight Jewel 1.55 @ 6/4

Glamorous Angel 2.10 @ 9/4

Lord Torranaga 5,09 @ 20/1

Selected Nottingham – good to firm on this flat and galloping track

2.10 Glorious Angel holds her form very well and this C&D winner on fast  ground comes here on the back of another big run , when this late player came out of the clouds to be a good 2nd at Newcastle, off just a pound lower and the booking of the very able 7 pound claimer Connor Planas looks a shrewd move .

1/2pt win Glorious Angel @ 9/4

Selected Catterick – good to soft on this undulating and sharp track .

1.44 Course form counts for plenty here which make both C&D winners , the reliable pair of Hot Scoop and Golden Gal again of interest , despite both of them now being on stiff enough marks. The front running Canaria Prince is holding his form well and is a danger , especially as he handles the ground well .Both Secret Equity and Polam Lane are another in form pair , but may best get going a bit too late dropping in trip. All in all a tricky opener , aggravate by this being a race for amateur riders !. At the odds , the well drawn Golden Gal gets the nod .

1/4pt  ew  Golden Gal @ 11/1

2.19 Another tricky event but what is helpful is that all of Castan , Doctor Mozart and Teatime Tipple locked horns over C&D recently on similar ground , and there wasn’t much in it, finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th , but the latter came home with a wet sail from a tricky draw and could come out on top today. This is not just a 3 horse race and all of the rest require careful consideration .

1/4pt  ew  Teatime Tipple @ 10/1

2.54 A very weak contest and despite Waiting All Night not being at his best the last twice , it will be a shock if he fails to land long odds on .

4.04 A weak stayer’s handicap and despite being a few pounds high , Oh So Chic , will be hard to beat .

1/2pt win Oh So Chic @ 2/1

4.39 Rain Cap has a terrific record over C&D and is holding his form very well despite shooting up the ratings . A capable 7 pound claimer rides , which should make the task a touch easier .

1/4pt win Rain Cap @ 4/1

5.09 The dual purpose Lord Torenaga comes here on the back of a fine 2nd over fences at Hexham and has some good form in the book on turf of late , one of the best runs was chasing home the reliable yardstick Innse Gall at Carlisle , but he runs this track particularly well , a win and 2 places from 4 starts and this prominent racer is partnered by a very able 5 pound claimer , who’s won on him before , and rides this track very well. Looking at the opposition, who mostly bring negatives to the table, could surprise .

Selected Bangor – good ground on this flat and sharp track

1.55 The admirably consistent Midnight Jewel , 5 wins and 2 seconds in his last 8 runs ! holds his form very well despite frequent nudges up the ratings . He’s a prominent racer , which will help in a field of mostly late players , and the 5 pound hit for the win at Fontwell looks manageable, considering the 2nd horse has sluiced in since . Taken well to fences and will be hard to beat .

3/4pt  win Midnight Jewel @ 6/4

4.46 Quite an open finale but well happy being with the very much in  form Seemingly So,  who comes here on the back of two narrow defeats , the latest off this mark . He likes to dominate , and may have a bit of company early on , but does see this trip out really well , and with enthusiasm . Probably better on a right handed track, but still overpriced .

Selected Kempton – all weather – polytrack

6.00 Baldomero was last seen running a mighty race in a valuable Class 2 handicap, over C&D when a close 2nd . He’s 3 pounds higher tonight , but this is less demanding . He’s been unlucky in the draw but still appeals as the likely winner with plenty of these either coming here in poor form or unproven on the surface .

1/4pt win Baldomero @ 9/2

6.30 PREMIUM RACE

7.00 PREMIUM RACE

7.30 As Broxi has a massive 10 pound penalty and so does Elsaab , the double looks well and truly on for the front running Unsung Hero , just 2 pounds higher for a recent C&D win .

1/2pt win Unsung Hero @ 11/10

8.00 This won’t take much winning as Tell Em Nowt is much less potent on the polytrack and Atlantic  Heart also has it to prove on this surface . No issues for the luckless Shin Saw Gyi , 2nd in all 3 career  runs , and was2nd here last time . Very fairly treated in her first handicap and shapes very much as this longer trip will suit .

1/2pt  win Shin Saw Gyi @ 4/1

8.30 The stand out piece of form in this ordinary looking staying handicap , belongs to the well handicapped Stiletto , a 3 lengths 4th over C&D in a competitive Class 4 , behind some very useful yardsticks . Only problem is that he’s partnered by Tom Greatrex , who has a shocking record around here , but at least has plenty of experience .

Selected Newcastle – all weather – tapeta . The track is stiff and galloping

5.45 Purple Ice has yet to win one but comes here on the back of a fine 3rd over C&D in a competitive heat , and this late player could be shedding his maiden tag . Franco Grosso is another late player who was also a fine 3rd last time , this being at Kempton , and if handling the surface has every right to go close . Forilo hasn’t showed very much , but this front runner could get the run of the race , if the others let him go .

6.15 After landing a soft ground poor grade event in the Beverly mud, She’s Got Bottle well surpassed that with another all the way win again at Beverley , landing a decent looking handicap , winning easily , and off just a 3 pound higher mark, understandable that she’s a warm order in this uncompetitive low grade handicap, but the consistent Oscar Doodle is proven over C&D and very solid ew .

1/2pt  ew Oscar Doodle @ 9/2

7.45 The front running Afta Party ran a cracker at Southwell in his first race for a new stable , and opposed by horses who have generally forgotten how to win, could take some catching .

1/2pt win Afta Party @ 6/4

8.15 Dapper Man has run some decent races of late in better races than this . He’s dropped to a career low mark and does handle the surface . Last time seen on tapeta was a close 3rd off a 13 pound higher mark. Has to be worth a dabble .

1/4pt win Dapper Man @ 8/1
