Selected Aintree- god to soft on this flat and galloping track
A special hello to Peter The Painter , his lovely wife Katie and party , all experts in the art of picking winners . The very best of luck today and hope your day at the races is a most happy one .

2.55 A quality field for this Grade 1 Chase , but the highest rated , last year’s Cheltenham Gold Cup winner A Plus Tard , has been pulled up in both starts this season , showing very little each time .Shishkin is mightily prolific and ran really well at The Cheltenham Festival when 2nd , but more was expected as he was the even money fav . He goes without his tongue tie and is upped in trip , so prefer the look elsewhere . The front running Ahoy Senor is 2 from 2 at this meeting and before his fall in the recent Gold Cup , won a competitive Grade 2 really well .He’ll set out to make all and has showed before , he takes some catching around here . Conflated is a useful sort , a good 3rd in the Gold Cup while Ga Law completes the field , but this useful handicapper has a mountain to climb against classy rivals .
1/2pt win Ahoy Senor @ 11/4
3.30 He’s 6 from 6 and recent facile Champion Hurdle winner Constitution Hill is already rated a very lofty 175, not far behind the highest ever rated in the low 180’s but he very much has time on his hooves and likely to be one of the all time greats , God willing . He steps up in trip today , which if anything is likely to see him in a greater light , and despite taking on some useful types , defeat is unlikely for this 1/7 shot . Most bookies will be backing without the fav and I’ll be having a little dabble on last year’s winner of this in Epatante , providing Nicky Henderson with a 1-2 .
1/4pt win Epatante W/O the fav @ 5/2

5.15 You would do very well finding the winner in this 20 strong bumper for thev fairer sex. The fav is the only one who hasn’t won , but Jolie Couer Allen ran to a good level in her only race , and has since joined Willie Mullins . I’m having a little dabble on Punchestown winner Magic Dawn , who was subsequently sold to the top stable of Gordon Elliott for £185,000 . Worth a little dabble .
1/4pt ew Magic Dawn @ 20/1

Selected Taunton – good to soft on this flat and sharp track
3.10 Country Kitten sprang a 40/1 shock last time winning in the Market Rasen mu , but going through her form , a case could have been made for her . This C&D and ground will suit and off a 4 pound higher mark can feature again in a race where not many count.
1/2pt ew Country Kitten @ 14/1
4.30 Jet Of Magic brings very strong form to the table and no issue with the ground or trip. The hat-trick seeking Hititi has not only a 4 pound hit to overcome but is unproven at the trip .

Selected Newcastle – all weather – tapeta . The track is stiff and galloping
2.45 Godolphin are two handed in this maiden in newcomer Sahara Mist and Joyful Act , a close 4th on debut but as Alpina Express was only a length behind and over this stiffer test , could surprise .
1/4pt win Alpina Express @ 9/1
3.55 Not a great deal of early pace in this which could give the advantage to the few racing front rank . Outsmart is a terrifically genuine sort who won first time back last season , over this C&D , and held his form well throughout the season. Mark is manageable and another bold effort expected .
1/4pt ew Outsmart @ 8/1
4.30 Centre Court has been knocking on the door of late and is certainly on a workable mark , Proven at the track and the extra yardage may see a deserved win .
1/2pt win Centre Court @ 6/1
5.05 The short priced fav is the consistent recent C&D winner Bella Kopelia , but the 4 pound hit could catch her out .Profitar Rules hasn’t been far away of late and likely to appreciate this stiffer test .
1/4pt win Profitar Rules @ 10/1
5.40 Jems Bond did very well to land his 5th course win last time off a career high mark and down in trip , and off just a 2 pound higher mark , double looks on in a winnable heat.

Selected Chelmsford City – all weather – polytrack
5.00 This should finally be They Don’t Know’s big day and this 20 race maiden , has been 2nd 7 times , including a very good run over C&D when 2nd to one who went on to double up under a hefty penalty , but in a race for apprentices , just a dabble .
1/4pt win They Don’t Know @ 7/4
6.30 Smith is holding his form very well and just 2 pound higher for his 2nd win in his last 3 starts . C&D suits well and a very decent bet at the odds .
1/2pt win Smith @ 6/1
7.00 Buckshaw Village went close last time over C&d and off a pound lower could notch an overdue win .
1/4pt win Buckshaw Village @ 4/1
