2.00 Highway One O Three comes here on a 4 timer , but of more concern than the 5 pound hit is the much softer ground he’ll experience today , as well as switching to fences . Gallic Geordie goes well fresh and landed a hat-trick last season , two of them here , taking his course record to 3 from 3 , and soft ground fine . He backed up his hat-trick with a close 2nd at Haydock in a competitive Class 3 , off a slightly higher mark than today, before finding his last race at Ayr one race too many . He ticks plenty of boxes except for a very important one , trip , as he’s been unplaced in 3 previous tries at this distance , but that was before he got his mojo working .

3.30 A Class 3 Stayers Hurdle , but the vast majority of these are wither running so poorly or are unlikely stayers on the testing ground . At the odds worth risking the front running and mud loving and prolific Bushypark , who started last season with a facile win in the Kelso mud, off a 4 pound higher mark than today , but was poor next time and was pulled up in his next two runs , so obviously now hard to keep right , probably due to many slogs in the mud . He returns after a 7 months break and worth chancing that he’s fit and ready to run these into the ground .

Rock The house ran well on his first try for Katie Scott , but is another nudged up 2 pounds and both the drying ground and shorter trip are against him. Cobbs Corner put in a much improved display last time , which he is entitled to do being a youngster .The win came at Fakenham at this trip and ground and the 4 pound hit looks most fair .

1.15 Not keen being with the fav in Paramount who returned from a lengthy absence to be a decent 3rd recently , but statistically , this sort tends to go backwards from a return race. Chances can be given to promising bumper horse We Gotta Getaway and The Kniphand who brings decent hurdles form to the race . Preference is for the former pointer Santos Blue, now with Dan Skelton.

Less competition for the lead tonight and also enjoys a massive 7 pound pull. Looks very solid ew .

7.30 A Class 2 handicap but with the well handicapped and back to form Chichester still hard to win with, and the same can be said about Fantastic Fox , while Natural world and Felix just aren’t cutting the mustard of late , worth a try on the useful polytrack performer Via Serendipity , whose recent effort on turf haven’t been terrible and a return to this trip sees this longshot in a better light . In 5 tries here he is a win and 3 places .
