Selected Catterick – good to soft on this undulating and sharp track

2.00 Not a deep contest and if Lock’s Corner can replicate his recent good 2nd , a return to the Winners’ Circle could be on the cards . He was a very exciting prospect as a youngster with 6 wins , his peak being a victory off a lofty mark of 140 , but then the wheels fell off , but the handicapper has to respond and switching back to hurdles last time , ran Blenkinsop to a neck with a long way back to the 3rd , who brought good form to the table . Blenkinsop has gone on to defy a penalty , so the form is rock solid , but you still worry which Lock’s Corner will turn up as he ran a cracker at Worcester but next time ran a stinker . Not What It Seems is just the opposite , totally reliable and this prolific novice hurdler returns handicapping off a very fair mark . It takes some doing landing a hat-trick of novice hurdles , carrying dreaded penalties and this prominent racer gets the vote with ground and C&D likely to suit .

1/2pt win Not What It Seems @ 5/1

Selected Kempton – all weather – polytrack

1.45 Both Longclaw and Haku, the clear form horses , both have a bit to do switching to polytrack and also nudged up a few pounds . The lightly raced Pink Haze is with a good stable and runs in famous colours and was a running on 4th at Chelmsford City last time . She was beaten 5 lengths but gave the impression this longer trip would suit . Nicely drawn and down 2 pounds.

1/2pt ew Pink Haze @ 10/1

2.45 Twilight Revenge took full advantage of a huge drop in the ratings with a smooth success over C&D . Well drawn and can land this winnable heat off just a 2 pound higher mark .

1/2pt win Twilight Revenge @ 5/2

Selected Wolver – all weather – tapeta

4.25 Lexington Knight is 2 from 2 over C&D and is 3 pounds higher for a recent success but connections are using the 7 pound claiming stable apprentice , but in 3 runs together , they’ve failed to even hit the frame , underlining how difficult it is to ride a front runner to full effect , and there are other front runners in this field. He had the consistent yet luckless Genesius a length behind last time , and is just a pound better off , but is partnered today by a 7 pound claimer who gets on well with him . He finished alongside Bugle Major last time out over C&D , but has a big pull in the weights . Could well be his day .

1/2pt win Genesius @ 7/2

4.55 After a series of poor efforts , Hooflepuff has snapped out of it and comes here on a course hat-trick , and the way this 8 time course winner went in last time, looks capable of defying a stiff 5 pound penalty in a modest heat .

1/4pt win Hooflepuff @ 11/4

5.55.The short priced fav is Sugar Candie , who returns from a 6 months break , for a stable struggling for form , is 3 pounds higher , goes up in trip and only try on tapeta was poor . This race will take little winning and well worth a try with the well handicapped Blue Hero , a winner at Bath earlier this year and comes here on the back of a running on 5th here, giving the impression , well worth a try at this distance .

1/4pt  ew Blue Hero @ 16/1

7.25 The fav is the hat-trick seeking Shining Al Danah who gave big rollers a bit of a sweat when landing odds of 2/9 at Newcastle , scrambling home and running to a level well below her mark of 83. She’ll be trying to lead all the way again , but is not assured of the lead , especially from the worst of the draw. Belle Fourche is just 2 pounds higher for her C&D win with Cherish and Amber Dew just behind and should confirm the form off just a 2 pound higher mark. She went on to be beaten narrowly at Southwell off this mark before not given the best of rides in a Newcastle handicap for amateurs . Prominent racer and looks way overpriced for her chance .

1/2pt  ew Belle Fourche @ 16/1
