1.30 The once useful Boom The Groom is now firmly in the veteran stage and despite running well frequently , only 2 wins in the last 6 years ! He ran well over C&D last time out when trying to make all but could only manage an honourable 2nd That came on easy ground, which nowadays suits him best . Moveonup was a surprise winner of a modest contest last time but over a slightly longer trip and on quicker ground , nod goes to the strong finishing Cappananty Con , 4th in that race , but could well exploit a lowly mark .

3.00 Looks very much a match but as Copperknob’s best runs have come on soft ground , coast looks clear for Caesar’s Palace , and his 2nd at Nottingham off this mark and trip is race winning form and the stable has a cracking record here .

3.30 The 8 times course winner Junoesque was well held here last time out now racing off a stiff enough mark and is 3 pounds higher today ! He loves to front run , but Menin Gate could well spoil his fun up front , so another negative to ponder . The admirably consistent Smokey Malone is proven over C&D and despite being a few pounds high in the ratings , can be relied upon to run his race . All Of Be fair , Psyche and the down in trip Cherry Cola are all respected .

2.45 An open handicap and a clear chance cand be given to recent C&D winner Saisons D’or, just 2 pounds higher for a determined win last time , where he had course specialist Proud Arch back in 4th and with just 1 wins in 4 years , not hard to look elsewhere despite Proud Arch now racing on a good mark . The nod goes to the well drawn Piastrella , who was 2 from 2 over C&D last year and started this year’s campaign with an honourable 4th of 14, from a tricky draw and off a 3 pound higher mark and has acquitted himself OK since then .

4,15 The consistent Haven Lady is now looking too high in the ratings while Iron Sheriff nailed his 2nd course win last time on quick ground but has an adverse draw to overcome , a 5 pound penalty and goes up 2 furlongs , and is a doubtful stayer . Clan Jock broke his duck last time at Hamilton on easy ground, and this is the quickest ground he’s ever faced and has a nasty 3 pound penalty . Termonator is rarely far away , but last two runs could have been much better , but you can find excuses . Previously he was a good 2nd here and off a 3 pound lower mark and the step up in trip no issue , an overdue and deserved win can come his way .

6.00 A taste Of Honey is the short priced fav on the strength of her good 2nd on debut at Donny , but that was over a longer trip and she was doing all of her best work late on . Tessa brings decent form to the table , that being 3rd of 10 at Haydock , a race where the form has worked out well.

7.10 Grand Scheme comes here on a hat-trick , but the handicapper has had his say and is unlikely to nab the treble off a 6 pound higher mark while Frontspiece , who runs this track very well is a nasty 4 pounds higher for just finishing 2nd ! Cruel ! The lightly raced Zain Nights was a head 2nd here last time over a slightly shorter trip in his first handicap so respected greatly off a 2 pound higher mark. The Nod goes to the well handicapped Parachute , back to his best trip and his length 4th at Epsom off a 2 pound higher mark puts him right in the picture and is 13 pounds better off for a 2 length beating over C&D last season .

8.10 Not a deep race and Touchwood comes here on the back of three seconds and this could be his day , but the nod goes to the consistent Alablaq, likely to appreciate the step back up in trip and has run well hitting the frame in his last four races.
