Selected Haydock = very soft ground on this flat and galloping track

12.30 Ballymagroarty Boy is rarely far away but doesn’t win many . He’s become well handicapped and comes here on the back of a good 2nd in the Uttoxeter mud and no reason why he won’t run his race again .

1/4pt  ew  Ballymagroarty Boy @ 7/1

1.30 Sleeping Satellite is 2 from 2 , winning his point and bumper , and soft ground no issue , Could take advantage of receiving weight from the penalised runners .

1/4pt win Sleeping Satellite @ 9/2

2.30 Similar reasons for being with the consistent Fine Casting as both recent C&D winners Jungle Jack and Stainsby Girl are both heavily penalised .

1/4pt win Fine Casting @ 5/2

3.00 A couple of seasons ago Sam’s Adventure was winning marathons off higher marks than this , but too many hard races took its toll and came into his last race on the back of 3 pulled ups in 4 races , but did show up much better and off an even lower mark and with the extra yardage to suit , could surprise .

1/4pt ew Sam’s Adventure @ 16/1

Selected Taunton – good ground on this flat and sharp track

12.45 The ex- French Blueking D’Oroux was a very disappointing short priced fav in a Cheltenham Grade 2 when pulled up, and again on ground likely to be quick enough , in a modest event , clear preference for decent flat stayer Trojan Horse who got his act together well over hurdles last time .

1/2pt win  Trojan Horse @ 9/4

3.45 Despite now being on a stiff enough mark the prominent racing Couldbeaweapon holds his form well and in a race far more about quantity than quality , could get just reward .

1/4pt win Couldbeaweapon @ 3/1

Selected Wolver – all weather – tapeta

4.30 Have to tread very carefully in this as it’s a hands and heels race for mostly very inexperienced jockeys. Fair to expect another good run by the luckless front running eagle Eyed Freddie but slight preference is for the well handicapped Johnny Boom , who has showed of late that his turn won’t be far away and the longer trip in his favour , as too is the likely strong pace .

1/4pt win Johnny Boom @ 11/4

5.00 Man on A Mission is now on a very stiff mark and from a bad draw , looks a fav to take on . Glorious Charmer is back down to a good mark and chased home an improver over C&D last time with Nellie French held in 3rd and as that one finished alongside Elf Rising last time and with Topflight continuing to struggle and racing from a bad draw, the tip has no excuses .

1/2pt win Glorious Charmer @ 9/2

6.00 There was plenty of confidence behind Base Note and it was well justified with an easy win over C&D in a competitive Class 2 , beating a couple of classy handicappers Up 6 pounds , but as he won by an easy 4 lengths ,this prominent racer could well overcome the penalty .

1/2pt win Base Note @ 2/1

6.30 Clear chances can be given to all of : Midnight Train , Giorgo Vasari, Kardinya and Lhebayb who are in all form and proven at the trip , surface and mark , but so is longshot Quote Direct who was a close 4th over C&D last time off this much reduced mark and better can be expected as he builds up fitness following a break .

1/4pt  ew Quoteline Direct @ 33/1

7.00 Triple C&D winner Cicely went very close in her first try for her new, up and coming stable , just touched off by City Escape . There will be little between them again at the revised terms , but the tip should hold the aces .

1/2pt win Cicely @ 6/4

7.30 Swiss Rowe has improved since joining his new stable and followed an easy C&D win with a good 2nd again over C&D. He’s  won from a wide draw before and with 7 pound claimer Billy Lougnane now back in the saddle , looks a good play in The Lucky Last .

1/2pt win Swiss Rowe @ 5/1
